Hi, I’m Cath, and I specialize in printmaking and ink drawing. Much of my inspiration comes from the vibrant life in my garden, where I’m surrounded by an array of feathered and furry friends. Their movements, textures, and natural patterns influence my work, providing endless creative inspiration.

When I sit down to work on a new linocut, I’m often drawn to the simplest, most fundamental elements of the scene. I’ve always had an interest in how natural forms can be stripped back to their essence—focusing on the lines and patterns that make up the creature. My linocuts reflect that—bold, graphic, and minimalist, yet with a depth and texture that draws you in.

One of the key things I aim for in my prints is a sense of organic movement. I love how the cutaway areas of the lino, the parts left unprinted, play an important role in creating contrast and highlighting the bold shapes. It’s all about the balance between what is printed and what’s left out. The unprinted spaces breathe life into the design, giving it contrast and allowing the printed ink to really stand out.
